Barbeque Reviews - Continued
I've gone to a number of BBQ places in Memphis area over the years including Vergos' Rendezvous Charcoal Ribs and Germantown's Commissary but the best in my opinion is Corky's Ribs & BBQ, www.corkysbbq.com. This barn style restaurant has very good hand pulled pork shoulder sandwiches and excellent ribs. It's a newer vintage, as BBQ joints go, having been started in 1984. This deserves the rating of 6.0 on a scale of 0-7.

Next stop was Clarksdale, MS - home of the Delta Blues Museum, Morgan Freeman's Ground Zero, Red's Lounge and the excellent Shack Up Inn: www.shackupin.com. The Shack Up is "the place to stay" in this area. This is owned and run by Bill Talbot and Guy Malvezzi . Know as Mississippi's oldest B&B (that's Bed & Beer). As they say; "the Ritz Carlton, we ain't". Check it out. Now, back to BBQ. Clarksdale has a few places and my favorite is Abe's BBQ, www.abesbbq.com. This place is great and has been around since 1924. They have a very tangy sauce with their great ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. Their tamales are really good too. You might say, "Tamales, in Mississippi??" But, they are very good and done as well as any I've found in Texas, Mexico or anywhere else. These good folks deserve a rating of 6.4 on a scale of 0-7.
Note: You may be questioning the higher ratings of each stop so far but, it is true that it has only gotten better as I have gone along. It's all GOOD!
